Hello dearie! Wow, this has to be one of your best portraits, I kid you not. Seriously creepy, but all the color tones work amazingly together. I love the veiny look of her skin and the reddened eyes. Fantastic and solid work!
thank you! One of the few I did quickly that didn't suffer as much from my speediness! ^^
Mostly I was just churning these portraits out one after another, so I had to keep saying, "eh good enough!" so I could move on to the next one, lol.... I mean, sometimes it's good having a deadline, but other times I look back and get distracted wanting to fix things... (like her hair /eyes could use a lot more work. ).
(but overall I really like this one, too; heehee. )
Nicely done. Valen was one of the few characters that bordered between important and unimportant. No portrait and very small role, but she had her own voice and everything! Nice to see someone's take on her.
well, I'm probably going to re-do her, actually; I think I just misinterpreted some of 's direction, and since I didn't really have a plan (or remember her!! I guess she fell into the 'unimportant' category with me, whoops), I just made her into a psychotic/feisty looking vampire hehe... but I think she's supposed to look more normal, so we'll just try that again. Glad you like her, though!
yup, I figured you were talking about the mod here, too, so I just tried to reply to both of those comments at once instead of repeating myself. But I guess I'll be redundant anyway: thanks for answering Eudaemonium's question! I hadn't played the mod, so I couldn't answer.
The weird thing is that BG2 overdoses on the conflict (I have enough of that in real life!). I played it through about halfway, and then read on a forum that Vicky, Jaheira and Aerie were all romanceable (by guys, this was 1998!). I thought, hey, 'all three are in my party', so I downlaoded a mod that made them romanceable by by female Skald.
Well, overnight, they went from being supportive and sane companions to bickering, arguing, infighting, and generally crackers. Aerie in particular had a full nervous breakdown. And Vicky now hated me. I was pretty confused.
So basically, romance = psychiatric therapy.
It was some time before I was brave enough to do another Bioware romance (Carth in Knights of the Old Republic) but thankfully by then they had toned down the conflict a bit
awww I can see how that would be quite the overdose! Those gals just get so catty with each other; it's kind of an additional insult when you consider the unbalanced favoring of men/male players in the first place. (or at least it seemed a bit misogynistic to me. )
Fortunately, yeah, it does seem like Bioware is now offering a better balance between all those angsty/conflicty romances and the sweet/tender ones for those whose tastes differ/like a variety... but I always seem to fall for whoever is non-romanceable in any case ahahahhaaa STORY OF MY LIFE
Yes, she had vampire level ups separate from her normal fighter/thief level ups. Ideal for anyone taking Bodhi's side in the guild war. But there was a cost; she had a hard time not attacking people to feed, was of course weaker in sunlight, and at her highest vampire level, some seriously tough vampire hunters would come after you.
