I got inspired to design some new mage armor while playing Dragon Age 2... I mean, how conspicuous are all those apostates running around, c'mon. ;P

This is actually an older version of my Warden from Origins, not a Mage!Hawke. As of today, she has been formally rechristened Lirathy Ostril (formerly Amell).

Godspeed You! Black Emperor - Murray Ostril: "They Don't Sleep Anymore on the Beach" may or may not be related to this. ;D

It's really hard for me to 'request critiques' because I always can find so many things I screwed up on/am not happy with... but this is definitely the first thing I've done that I feel I've invested enough time into to make it sorta worth it.

I just got to a point where I knew it wasn't going anywhere else (I started it like a month ago and haven't done much to it since then), so I could definitely use some help/nudges to finish it up, or advice for the next one, or whatever. ^^

awww thank you!! I'm starting to spend a whole lot more time on my pics so they look better, but that means it takes me an obscene amount of time to finish anything. xD

As for constructive critique, I'd say that she has more manly features, very small waist and large shoulders, and that her torso is pretty long (like a man). But if you intended it, that's not a problem then ^^ Apart from that, your painting skills are always impressive !

I think I probably exaggerated it a little too much oops hehe... but thank you! :D

Well, I can say some things, if ya want.
1. her torso is supposed to be that long? I mean, yeah, I've encountered women with long bodies and narrow hips. But, y'know for a human hips are just... slightly wider than that.
2. hands supposed to be slightly larger - hands usually take up three quarters of face (for women) and 4/5 for men )
3. is it just me, or the heel is visible only on one boot? it looks kinds like a platform on right one.
4. face is perfect. Meh, you're always good at painting faces.

I could name your robe design as 'Anders' for women' :XD: Hope it helps. :D

thanks so much for the feedback! :D

1. that's a good catch... it was actually somewhat intentional, more of an aesthetic decision, but I probably went too far. She's supposed to have more of a boyish sort of body type--but combined with her wearing her belt awful low it did turn out looking a bit odd. xD
2. thank you for pointing that out! I hadn't even noticed that.
3. no, I doubt it's just you-- I had the hardest time getting everything sort of symmetrical haha
4. thank you! ^^ (it's actually the only thing I worked on from a reference xD)

that was quite helpful-- thank you very much!! I can definitely use everything you've said.
